Hello! I am Stacy, with nearly 20 years of counseling experience across the lifespan. I have worked with many people in settings like community mental health and schools, applying trauma informed care.
As a spouse to a first responder, and sister to a military combat veteran, I understand the unique challenges and stresses in these careers. I advocate trauma-informed care for first responders, dispatchers, correctional officers, military, and their spouses.
I provide trauma informed care as an EMDRIA-certified therapist to individuals, from teen to adult, dealing with recent or historical trauma using EMDR.
I am actively accepting clients for individual therapy who reside in Arizona and Virginia. You can get in touch with me by using the convenient online form here, or you may locate my contact information at the bottom of each page. I look forward to hearing from you!
Education and Background
Education and Background
I grew up in a small town in northeast Tennessee and spent over 30 years there. In 2003, I earned a B.S. in Psychology from Radford University in Virginia. After a brief break, I entered graduate school at East Tennessee State University where I earned my Masters in Counseling in 2007.
Eventually I obtained my License in Professional Counseling in 2014, from the state of Virginia. Simultaneously, I became EMDR trained and embraced trauma informed care to help others move beyond their trauma. Eventually I took EMDR further and became certified in this highly specialized trauma treatment.
In 2020, amidst the pandemic, I chose to uproot my life, finding a new home in Arizona to be closer to family. While I now practice within the state of Arizona, I can continue to provide trauma informed care to Virginia residents. In 2020, amidst the pandemic, I chose to uproot my life.

In-person sessions may be offered for Yuma, AZ residents if appropriate.
I have worked with children as young as 2 years old to senior adults, addressing minor needs to more severe mental health and substance use disorders. My career has taken me from community mental health, to school systems, to crisis and rehabilitation, to private practice – making me a well-rounded and trained Counselor.

My hobbies and interests
Self-care is a crucial part of living a healthy, happy life. Exercising is one of my primary ways to practice self-care and relieve stress. Whether it’s weightlifting, playing pickleball, practicing Yoga, or out in nature exploring the world around me, I feel so much better physically, mentally and emotionally when I am done.
Photography is another interest of mine. Throughout my website you will see many of my own images captured during some of my hikes.
