What does therapy look like?

Individual counseling sessions are my primary format. At times it may be appropriate to include another person in our sessions, but that will be based on your treatment needs and our agreement that it is beneficial or necessary. If you are a legal parent/guardian seeking services for you and/or your child, your treatment needs may require you to participate in individual and family sessions with me.

Client Portal Access

Once we decide to move forward, you will receive an email invitation to set up your profile with a unique password on my secure client portal. You will have your own secure link for completing paperwork, managing appointments, accessing telehealth sessions, and secure messaging with me, so it is very important to not share your login information with anyone. Because confidential and private information about you and our sessions will be stored electronically on this portal, you need to make sure you are accessing the portal from your own secure server/network on your own private/personal device. You can access the client portal through my website. When you log in it will look like this.

Self-Pay

I am not paneled with any insurance companies and therefore, am considered “out-of-network”. At your request, I can provide you with a “SuperBill” and receipts to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement of services. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to discuss your concerns, benefits, and limitations, specifically with an out-of-network provider and with online counseling sessions (telehealth). For insurance companies to cover your counseling sessions, they require a mental health diagnosis, justification for the service, purpose and goals of treatment, and they will determine the frequency and length of treatment. My choosing to remain “out-of-network” allows me to focus on what you need with more privacy and flexibility.

Session Fees

My standard rates are $160 for a 50 minute therapy hour session and $210 for a 90 minute session. Initial appointments are 90 minutes to allow me enough time to get to know you, understand your needs, and determine the direction for future sessions. Fees need to be paid upfront on day of service. Cancellations/rescheduling needs to be done at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee. My fees are not meant to hinder you from receiving the high-quality treatment you deserve, so if you have financial concerns or hardship, please discuss it with me. There may be alternatives we can explore based on your circumstances.

Free 15 Minute Phone Consultation

Therapy takes time and a willingness to Who you choose as your therapist is just as important as participating in therapy. This is why I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation for any new clients before opening them up to therapy. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your needs, concerns, and assess if we are a good match before we even begin. You are welcome to decline this offer but note it will only be offered once at our initial contact. Also, if at anytime during our therapeutic relationship either of us decides you need something different than I can provide, I can share contact information for another provider(s). Our “contract” is meant to be temporary and can terminate anytime as appropriate.
